National School Sport Week is a week-long sporting celebration for primary and secondary schools across Britain. The 2011 event takes place from 27 June – 1 July 2011. It not only helps fulfil school objectives for PE and Sport, but can be used across the curriculum to create excitement around the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games and help young people live the values of the Games.
Core to the entire week are the values of the Olympic and Paralympic Games. Whether on the sports field or in the maths class, pupils are asked to think about the Values and commit to demonstrate them through their behaviour and interaction with others. The 2010 event saw almost 14,000 schools and five million children taking part and enjoying sporting activities. Join in the fun, excitement and inspiration on the journey to London 2012
By taking part, your school can use the inspiration of London 2012 to encourage your pupils to participate in more sport, as well as engage the whole school and the local community in a week-long celebration.
